I was 5 for 8 in round one (stupid flames, sharks and devils)
Boston vs. Carolina Ok, I'm am now a believer in Cam Ward. As good as Staal was, Ward was the player who won that series for the Canes. I'm also still not a believer in Tim Thomas. He's a feel good story, yes, but i don'tt hink his style of goaltending is what a team needs in the playoffs. Especilly agaisnt the Staal/Whitney/Cole line. Carolina in SIX
Pittsburgh vs. Washington We all know Malkin, Crosby, Ovechkin and Green will shine in this series. I think the question is who out of Fleury and Varlamov (spelling?) can LIMIT the damage done by the otehr team's stars. I going to go with history and say Fleury. Pittsburgh in SIX
Detroit vs. Anahiem Hillar and the Ducks are peeking at the right time. I've never liked Chris Osgood. I think he's the worst goalie to win a Stanley Cup adn he's a product of a superstar team. But, he made a good point when he said he has the most playoff victories in the history of the NHL for a reason. Cause liek him or not, he does get the job done. Detroit in SEVEN
Vancouver vs. Chicago This is a tough one. My gut says don't trust the Hawks inexperiance and youth, but my gut said that last time and was wrong. The Hawks will get their chances to score (more than the Nucks will) so its basiclly if Luongo can continue to be superman or not.....meh, why not? Vancouver in SIX

I like your predictions. Myself, I would have the Wings winning earlier tho, and you mention the Blackhawks inexperience, Khabibulin (a key part of a team) has plenty (Cup), Ladd (Cup), Havlat (41 points in 58 playoff games), Campbell has playoff experience, Pahlsson (Cup). And for some reason, I'm starting to think Thomas isn't so much a "feel-good" story anymore but more that is actually is a "good" goaltender. His style is like Dominic Hasek.

His style is like Dominic Hasek. yes, some Hawks do have experiance, but MOST key players are playoff virgins (Teows, Kane, Sharp, Kieth, Seabrook, Barker). I'll agree that Khabby's cup ring is a huge boost, especially in net, and if they do pull it out I think he'll be the main reason.

3 for 4 in the winning team, 1 for 4 in number of games....not too shabby..
Detroit vs Chicago I avent seen the highlights yet, but Detroit apparently got through on a contraversial goal and are Lucky to be here. Chicago made pretty easy work of the Nucks and I'm becoming moer a more of a believer in their big game ability. Both goalies are playing well, both top lines are flying and both bluelines seem to be getting th job done. I've said a Wings/Pens finals from the get go, so why change now (even though Chicago is making me less and less sure of this pick). Detroit in SEVEN
Pittsburgh vs Carolina Both teams are coming of huge emotional wins. Crosby stole the show in his last series while Ward seems to be on one of his hot runs for the Canes. I think this series eill be exactly like the Caps/Pens series as it will be superstar vs superstar (Crosby vs Staal). I'm going to base this pick on goaltending, but not in the traditional way. For the Canes to win, Ward will have to steal all their games, while all Fleury has to do is not lose any for the Pens. I'll always go with the team who's goalie only has to be average to succeed. Pittsburgh in SIX

2 for 4 and 1 for 4....kinda went down hill that round! Oh well good thing I have Carolina players in my pools!!!
Detroit in 5
Detroit will win the cup and this won't be an easy series but I think that the ONLY way that Chicago has a chance to even be in the series is if The Bulin Wall stands on his head, Not totally unlikely. He will see a ton of rubber though as is the Wings Forte.
Pittsburg in 6
I think we will see the same Final and the same result. Pittsburg just has too many elements to their team, and I agree with ED, HOLY FUCK I AGREED WITH ED! This series will be won between the pipes and Ward has to be brilliant while Fleury above average.....nuf said! PLAY ON BOYS!

I match i've been predicting all along!!!!!! I'M AWESOME....
Detroit vs. Pittsburgh The Wings are by far the best franchise in all of sports. They've been a top 3 team in the NHL for almost 15 years, which is next to impossible to do in any sport. They're experience will go a long way in this series. Pittsburgh is a year older and wiser with last year's cup run and the Sid/Gino combination has been impossible to stop the last two rounds. They a lot grittier than last year (who'd thunk that NOT sign Hossa woulda been a good thing) and have the young legs and speed to win it. Pens are healthy while the Wings two best players are hurting....man, this is a tough one...
I just can't bring myself to bet agaisnt Detroit. AS much as i would love to see the Pens lift the cup and gie the finger to Hossa, I just dont see it happening. It will be a tougher road than last year though.
DETROIT IN SEVEN
