Divisional Draft:
After each season the winners of each division get to draft new teams into their own division. This will ensure new/exciting competition each season during our division heavy schedule. As well, each team gets to re-name its division for the next season. Here are the rules:
- Each team has to stay in its own conferance (Retro/Classic)
- Draft order will be determined by regular season points (more points=higher pick).
- The draft will be a ladder draft.
Expansion Draft:
Should the need arise, the expansion draft will consist of players on team's professional and farm rosters. Here are the guidelines:
- Players 23 years of age and under are exempt.
- GMs can protect and maximum of 9 forwards, 4 defensemen, and 1 goalie.
- GMs HAVE to expose a minimum of 4 forwards, 2 defensemen, and 1 goalie.
- Teams can not lose more than 2 skaters and 1 goalie from their team during the draft
Contraction Draft:
Should the need arise, the contraction draft will consist of all player from the contracted team's professional and farm rosters, the teams prospects (if any), as well as players on the unassigned list. The draft will be a ladder draft. The 1st two rounds will only consist of the bottom 5 teams in the league. Rounds 3 and on will consist of all teams. The draft will end once all players are assigned a team or all teams "pass" on their picks.
Entry Draft:
Each off-season, the league will hold an entry consist of player that were either drafted or signed as an un-drafted UFA in the year the league is in or before and is not already in the sim files. In other words, if we're heading into the 1995 Entry Draft, only players who have been drafted or signed as an un-drafted UFA to the NHL in 1995 or before (1994, 1993, 1992 etc...) are eligible for the draft. The league will provide a list of prospects, though GMs are not limited to that list.
