In the off-season we are awarded at least 20 player points to add to any category we feel fit for players who are eligible to receive such points. Can we add those points to PO?

PO is a NOTHING attribute. It is only used by the sim when doing rerates. If Ed is going to do rerates the way he has been, PO is even more useless. PO does NOT effect the way a player plays.

That's all fine and dandy but neither of you answered my question, in fact you just left me with more questions. Ed are you doing the re-rates like you have in the past, or are you letting the sim do some or all of it. If the sim is re-rating, then I don't see why the PO is so useless. If thats how "quickly" a player can improve, then wouldn't it be somewhat benefical to increase a players PO? Ed, if you are doing the re-rates on your own, do you factor in PO at all?
For the record, its not something I planned on doing, I just wanted to know if it was an option.

the whole point of crossing over was for the sim to do the re-rates to lessen the burden on me
if you want to waste your player points on something as useless as PO, go for it...personally i would imagine a GM would use like to add three point to SC rather that to PO for the gamble of MAYBE adding 1 to SC later on...

PO is not "how quickly" a player will develop, it is used for the chance he may rerate. From what I understand, the better the season a player has the better the chances are of his rerate. PO from what I can tell determines the frequency of in season rerates(if on, which Ed just told us they are now off) and gives a player a better chance at a rerate after the season.
But with that said, the commish can limit how much ANY attribute will be rerated after the season. The commish can set the MAX an attribute can go up or down to say 2. SO no attribute will go up 2 or down 2 NO MATTER THE PO.

ALSO....
I have seen 37 year old players with a 1 for PO have great rerates after having good seasons. I have also seen young players with 90-99PO go down after having average seasons. It's all about how the player performs.
