All offers received that DO NOT include a "reason" for the players to sign have been REJECTED by the players. EVERY offer MUST include a short write-up trying to convince the player to sign or re-sign.

Sean Burke signed today, the blooming goalie took a three year deal, Sean was very excited to join this tea and was happy with the terms of the contract. The Philadelphia Quakers agreed to give Sean 3yr @ 3.2M + 2M Singing Bonus. Burke is the man between the pipes for the Quakers with little to no competition waiting in the wings.
Center Peter Zezel received a few offers but after a few days decided to give the Hamilton Tigers his services for 3yr @ 1M + 500K Signing Bonus. He has been promised "the ice time he deserves" and feels the team will have another successful season.
The Toronto St. Pats agreed to terms with Dale Hawerchuk. Top line minutes and a nice contract are the reasons. He also was very impressed with how the Pats approached negotiations. The contract is 3yr @ 2M + 3M Signing Bonus.
I suppose the biggest news of the day would be the signing of Wayne Gretzky. He was going to hold out for a No-Trade-Claus but has decided against it and signed a 3yr @ 5M + 15M SB deal. He got rich last year in Pitsburgh and is even richer now in California. There was some competition from another team, and hesitation in regards to mamagement (see front page) however this offer gives him a chance with a good team like he did last year, plus lines his pockets. He did like the fact that although he rejected the team last year, they were first in line to acuire him again.

St. louis Eagles signed the best remaing UFA goalie locking up Bill Ranford to a 2 year deal totaling 3.5M per year, the contract also has a NTC. He has been guaranteed the starting job for at least the next two seasons, as the club feels Nabakov still need some developing.

Piggy backing on the Ranford signing, the top defenseman in this FA class goes to the Eagles as Brian Leetch has signed to a 5 year deal worth 4.75mil a season with a HUGE $10mil SB and a NTC.
Leetch is very excited to play with fellow USA National team members Jeremy Roenick and Bill Guerin while playing with some of the top youth in the league right now like Pronger, Primeau and Iginla.

Hamilton Tigers signed Esa Tikkanin to a fairly significant contract of 4 yrs @ 1.75M + 2.5M Signing Bonus where it is expected that he will receive top minutes at the LW position.
Joel Otto has signed with the Philidelphia Quakers and his PK experience is the main reason. He also expects a decent 3rd line minutes. The term is 2 yr @ 850K
The New York Americans signed Yuri Khmylev and have offered him a "fair" amount of playing time at the lw position. Yuri wanted to sign, as the FA period only makes him nervous. Term 3 yr @ 800K
Hartford Whalers wanted one of two player to fill in at rw on the second line. They got their first pick as Sergei Makarov signed with the club. Term 4 yr @ 1M
Troy Murray and the Colorado Rockies came to a term of 1yr @ 700K + 2.1M Signing Bonus, obviously Troy felt the money was the most he would get to play 3rd line minutes.
Frantisek Kucera return to play with the Cleveland Barons. The player and club agree on 3yr @ 450K, a slight raise from last season.
And with the last signing of the day, miss treated in Quebec, the aging foward Peter Stastny has signed with the Montreal Wanderers. The team gave Pete Stastny a Pro-Only contract (will not be sent to minors) of 2 yr @ 1.75M. This "promise" will be watched closely as it may effect future signings with the club. However Peter still beleives he can contribute and will do his best to provide something for the team.

The Kansas City Scouts made a minor deal in signing Petri Skriki, the were a major player in the Gretzky bid, but came up just short. The team has decided to take another route a fill some hole in their team depth. Skriki liked the money for the 3rd/4th line minutes promised. Term 3 @ 995k
Brent Sutter is staying with his "family" in Atlanta, The Atlanta Flames signed Brent to play on a line with his brothers. The deal is 1 @ 450K + 1M Signing Bonus. They also signed farm goalie Darrin Madeley to a minor deal of 2 @ 450K
The Montreal Maroons signed two players, Jocelyn Lemuiex (5 @ 575K) and Jane Ojanen (5 @ 350K). Jocelyn will be asked to bring grit to the team and Ojanen will be starting the year in the minors.
Ed Olclzyk was holding out for more offer but only received three. He wants to start the season playing hockey as has decided to re-sign with the Hamilton Tigers where he will be given the "C" and help try to make a deep play-off run. Term 4 @ 1.75M + 2.5M Signing Bonus
After much debate, Ric Natress decided to sign what may turn out to be his final two years in the league. The California/Oakland Golden Seals will start him in the pro's and it will be up to him to keep the spot. Term 2 @ 500K
The St. Louis Eagles have improve a great amount this off-season, and that has made it easier for players to sign with the clu. Rick Tocchet settle on slighly lower salary to play for the Eagles. The promise of playing on the top line as opposed to 2nd line on another team was also a key factor. Term 3 @ 2.2M

"Troy Murray and the Colorado Rockies came to a term of 1yr @ 700K + 2.1M Signing Bonus, obviously Troy felt the money was the most he would get to play 3rd line minutes." Ed, this is true, I made a typo when posting his contract and corrected it, you must have beat me to it.
